Mehdi's life lies on a fragile balance. He plays the role of the perfect Algerian son for his mother Fatima, while hiding his relationship with Léa and his passion for French cuisine and wine, which he pursues as a chef at the bistro where he works. But Léa can no longer tolerate his family secrets and demands to meet Fatima. Cornered, Mehdi comes up with the worst possible solution...

Mehdi est sur un fil. Il joue le rôle du fils algérien parfait devant sa mère Fatima, tout en lui cachant sa relation avec Léa ainsi que sa passion pour la gastronomie française. Il est chef dans un bistrot qu’il s’apprête à racheter avec Léa. Mais celle-ci n’en peut plus de ses cachoteries et exige de rencontrer Fatima. Au pied du mur, Mehdi va trouver la pire des solutions.

Der junge algerische Koch Mehdi führt ein Doppelleben: Während er tagsüber gemeinsam mit seiner Partnerin Léa als Koch in einem Bistro arbeitet, spielt er abends vor seiner algerischen Mutter Fatima den perfekten Sohn und verbirgt vor ihr nicht nur seine Beziehung zu Léa, sondern auch seine Leidenschaft für die französische Kochkultur.

Mehdi ha due passioni: la cucina francese e la sua ragazza, Léa, francese purosangue. Lavorano entrambi in un bistrot parigino, dove Mehdi fa lo chef, molto apprezzato. Ma Mehdi vuole anche compiacere la mamma Fatima, davanti alla quale si finge un perfetto, ubbidiente figlio algerino. I suoi guai cominciano quando Léa, dopo tre anni di relazione, esige finalmente di incontrare Fatima. Percorsa da un gruppo eterogeneo di personaggi umanissimi, una commedia degli equivoci che mescola amore e cucina, etnie e generazioni, sapori e sentimenti.

Mehdi balansuje na granicy ryzyka. Gra rolę idealnego algierskiego syna przed swoją matką, Fatimą, jednocześnie ukrywając swój związek z Léą i pasję do kuchni francuskiej. Jest szefem kuchni w bistro, które on i Léa mają zamiar kupić. Ale Léa ma już dość jego sekretów i żąda spotkania z Fatimą. Przyparty do muru, Mehdi ucieka się do najgorszego z możliwych rozwiązań.
