Former vaudevillian. Directed Harold Lloyd comedies for Hal Roach. In the early 20's, joined Mack Sennett, then turned out two-reel comedies at RKO and Columbia, sometimes featuring Edgar Kennedy. In England after World War II, directing 'quota quickies'. Close friend of Stan Laurel.
Alfred John "Alf" Goulding (Melbourne, Austràlia, 26 de gener de 1896 - Hollywood, Los Angeles, 25 d’abril de 1972) va ser un actor d'origen australià, que es va convertir en un director de cinema i guionista nord-americà. Va dirigir més de 180 pel·lícules entre 1917 i 1959 i se li atribueix que Harold Lloyd portés les seves ulleres de marca.
