Margarethe von Trotta

Margarethe von Trotta (born 21 February 1942) is a German film director, screenwriter, and actress. She has been referred to as a "leading force" of the New German Cinema movement. Margarethe von Trotta (* 21. Februar 1942) ist eine deutsche Filmregisseurin, Drehbuchautorin und Schauspielerin. Sie wurde als „treibende Kraft“ der Bewegung des Neuen Deutschen Films bezeichnet.

Margarethe Von Trotta (Berlim, 21 de fevereiro de 1942) é uma diretora, roteirista e atriz de cinema alemã. É considerada como a líder do movimento do novo cinema alemão. Seu extenso trabalho foi premiado várias vezes em festivais internacionais. Vários aspectos de seu trabalho foram comparados com o de Ingmar Bergman. Margarethe é considerada a diretora mais feminista da atualidade, pois seu principal objetivo em seus filmes é o de criar e demonstrar novas representações da mulher contemporânea. Margarethe Von Trotta fez um filme sobre "Rosa Luxemburgo" com Barbara Sukowa no papel do título em 1985.
