Gundolf Willer

After high school, Willer graduated from the UFA junior studio under Else Bongers with musical, singing and dancing training. In 1959 he passed the stage examination. This was followed by engagements at the Bochum theater, the Zürich theater, the Lower Saxony State Theater in Hanover and the Thalia Theater in Hamburg. He made guest appearances on many other stages and at festivals and took part in numerous tours. His roles include Moritz Stiefel in Spring Awakening, Ferdinand in Kabale und Liebe, the title role in Clavigo, the title role in Don Karlos, Lancelot in The Merchant of Venice, Silvius in As You Like It, Cornelius Hackl in Hello, Dolly!, Truffaldino in The Servant of Two Masters, Sigismund in Life is a Dream, Andri in Andorra, Eisenring in Biedermann and the Arsonists and Prince in Carl Sternheim's Citizens Schippel. Willer is best known for roles in television series. For example, he played for the ARD in PS – stories about the car, for the ZDF in the Der Alte and in the WDR series Klimbim. Nach dem Abitur absolvierte Willer das UFA-Juniorstudio bei Else Bongers mit einer Ausbildung in Musik, Gesang und Tanz. 1959 bestand er die Bühnenprüfung. Es folgten Engagements am Bochumer Theater, am Theater Zürich, am Niedersächsischen Staatstheater in Hannover und am Thalia Theater in Hamburg. Er gastierte an vielen anderen Bühnen und bei Festivals und nahm an zahlreichen Tourneen teil. Zu seinen Rollen zählen Moritz Stiefel in „Frühlings Erwachen“, Ferdinand in „Kabale und Liebe“, die Titelrolle in „Clavigo“, die Titelrolle in „Don Karlos“, Lancelot in „Der Kaufmann von Venedig“, Silvius in „Wie es euch gefällt“, Cornelius Hackl in „Hello, Dolly!“, Truffaldino in „Der Diener zweier Herren“, Sigismund in „Das Leben ist ein Traum“, Andri in „Andorra“, Eisenring in „Biedermann und die Brandstifter“ und der Prinz in Carl Sternheims „Bürger Schippel“. Willer ist vor allem für seine Rollen in Fernsehserien bekannt. So spielte er beispielsweise für die ARD in „PS – Geschichten über das Auto“, für das ZDF in „Der Alte“ und in der WDR-Serie „Klimbim“. Er war der Hauptdarsteller in dem Erotikfilm „Hilfe, eine Jungfrau liebt mich“.
