Serj Tankian

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Serj Tankian (born August 21, 1967) is an Armenian-American singer–songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, poet, and political activist. He is best known as the lead vocalist, songwriter, keyboardist, and occasional live rhythm guitarist of the Grammy Award-winning rock band, System of a Down. During his musical career, Tankian has released five albums with System of a Down, one with Arto Tunçboyacıyan (Serart), as well as two solo albums Elect the Dead and Imperfect Harmonies and a live orchestral version of the former incorporating the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra named Elect the Dead Symphony. In 2002, Tankian and Rage Against the Machine/Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello co-founded a non-profit political activist organization, Axis of Justice. Tankian also founded the music label Serjical Strike Records. Tankian is ranked 26th in the Hit Parader's Top 100 Metal Vocalists of All Time. Ο Σερτζ Τανκιάν είναι Αρμενο-Αμερικάνος τραγουδιστής, τραγουδοποιός, παραγωγός δίσκων, ποιητής και πολιτικός ακτιβιστής. Είναι περισσότερο γνωστός ως τραγουδιστής, στιχουργός και ενίοτε ως κιθαρίστας σε ζωντανές εμφανίσεις, του συγκροτήματος System of a Down που δημιούργησαν τέσσερις Αρμενο-Αμερικανοί φίλοι το 1994. Στην καριέρα του έως τώρα ο Τανκιάν έχει κυκλοφορήσει 5 άλμπουμ με τους SOAD, έναν με τον Arto Tunçboyacıyan και 5 προσωπικά άλμπουμ. Ενώ, μια ζωντανή ορχηστρική έκδοση του Elect the Dead, ενσωματώθηκε στον δίσκο, υπό την ονομασία: Elect the Dead Symphony, η οποία κυκλοφόρησε το 2010. Επίσης, το 2002 ο Τανκιάν με τον κιθαρίστα των Rage Against the Machine και Audioslave, Τομ Μορέλλο, ίδρυσαν έναν μη κερδοσκοπικό, πολιτικό ακτιβιστικό οργανισμό, τον Axis of Justice. Ο Τανκιάν έχει δημιουργήσει και δική του δισκογραφική εταιρεία, υπό την επωνυμία: Serjical Strike Records.
