Rod Ball

Rod Ball was born in Miami, Florida in 1965. He began acting professionally as a wee lad with a small role in "Lenny", a biopic of Lenny Bruce, starring Dustin Hoffman and directed by Bob Fosse. Soon after, a role in "The Island", starring Michael Caine qualified him to join the Screen Actors Guild (now SAG-AFTRA). He has since served on the Local Board of that union for many years. Rod attended the University of Miami as a Business Management major (in addition to studying film directing and theater) for two years before he transferred to, and graduated from, the University of Colorado (Boulder) with a B.S. in Organizational Management. He has built an extensive body of work while dividing his time between South Florida and Los Angeles. In addition to the films and television shows listed here, his credits include 50+ commercials, many corporate/industry videos, numerous voice overs and the occasional stage play. He has several projects in the pipeline. A few years ago, he launched Principio Productions, LLC, an independent film production company. Rod Ball wurde 1965 in Miami, Florida, geboren. Schon als kleiner Junge ergatterte er eine Nebenrolle in „Lenny“, einem Biopic über Lenny Bruce mit Dustin Hoffman in der Hauptrolle und unter der Regie von Bob Fosse. Kurz darauf qualifizierte ihn eine Rolle in „Die Insel“ mit Michael Caine für die Mitgliedschaft in der Screen Actors Guild (heute SAG-AFTRA). Seitdem ist er seit vielen Jahren im Vorstand dieser Gewerkschaft tätig. Rod studierte zwei Jahre lang Betriebswirtschaftslehre an der University of Miami (neben Filmregie und Theater), bevor er an die University of Colorado in Boulder wechselte und dort seinen Bachelor of Science in Organisationsmanagement erwarb. Während seiner Zeit zwischen Südflorida und Los Angeles hat er sich ein umfangreiches Werk geschaffen. Neben den hier aufgeführten Filmen und Fernsehsendungen umfasst sein Portfolio über 50 Werbespots, zahlreiche Unternehmens- und Branchenvideos, viele Voice-over-Auftritte und gelegentliche Theaterrollen. Er arbeitet derzeit an mehreren Projekten. Vor einigen Jahren gründete er Principio Productions, LLC, eine unabhängige Filmproduktionsfirma. Er hat mehrere Drehbücher geschrieben, die hoffentlich in seiner geliebten Heimatstadt verfilmt werden können.
